Austin-American Statesman Editorial Board: McCaul’s measured approach is worth keeping in Congress
Houston, TX — Today, the Austin American Statesman Editorial Board recommended Michael McCaul for TX-10. The Editorial Board noted McCaul’s record as one of the most effective and bipartisan members of Congress saying:
“A senior member of the Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs committees, McCaul has led on efforts to fight human trafficking and address cybersecurity.”
“McCaul has built a record of bipartisanship and effectiveness. Last year he ranked 25th in the U.S. House, and first among members of the Texas delegation, on the Lugar Center’s Bipartisan Index, a reputable measure of officials’ efforts to work across party lines. He was also the second-most effective House Republican in getting his bills to move forward out of committee, and ranked 12th among House Republicans for introducing the most bills, according to the nonpartisan GovTrack.”
“It’s clear that McCaul is a constructive and effective member of Congress, and in our view the better pick for U.S. House 10 voters.”
